Learn to Row Camp is a program designed to teach the sport of competitive rowing to students with no prior rowing or sculling background. LTR is open to 7th & 8th grade boys planning on attending Saint Joseph High School, or current student of Saint Joseph High School looking to join the rowing team.
Our two-week summer Learn to Row Camp will introduce you to the sport of competitive rowing and prepare you for tryouts on the rowing team at Saint Joseph's.
A complete exploration of the sport of sculling: technique, training, boatmanship, rigging and more. The program includes 11 scheduled on-water sessions, two video review sessions per camper, and a variety of land sessions such as core strengthening, yoga, rigging, and ergometer training.
Our camp fee covers all elements of the program itself, including the use of a sculling shell appropriate to your stage of development.
What do YOU need to do or bring?
-Completed swim test certification (Info to be sent in late May)
-Completed USRowing Digital Waiver (Info to be sent in late May)
-Wear athletic shorts, tee shirt/tank top, sneakers daily
-Windbreaker / Splash jacket
-Reusable soft-sided water bottle with your name
-Yoga mat
-An willingness to learn!
***If an athlete joins the camp without registering beforehand, there will be a $99 fee attached to the Camp cost***
